Excellent site. I have lived both in the Veneto and in Abruzzo. Both are wonderful places, Veneto easily wins for the quality of white wine, especially Pinot Grigio. Each year emigres and their families from Teramo area meet both in America (in the town of Penns Grove, NJ) and in Valle San Giovanni (vallesangiovanni.com) in Italy. This summer a large gathering called Discover Your Roots, will take place in Abruzzo. This would be a good opportunity to visit Italy for anyone who has an interest in central Italy (and/or red wines from Controguerra/Torano Nuovo where there are three DOC's and one DOC-G available). Grazie!

Excellent website. Makes me wish that I also had ancestors coming from Italy. My grandparents emigrated from a town called Valle San Giovanni near Teramo in Abruzzo. I can assist folks (gratis) who would like to connect with family members from this area. Each year we have a luncheon in NJ for the families of emigres. In the summer we have a project called Discover Your Roots (see vallesangiovanni.com) during which people from all over the world gather to learn more about Abruzzo. Maybe see you there....
